Calls for Projects
The coproduction of performances within Stronger Peripheries follows a specific collaboration methodology – that of Tandems.
In short, each Tandem matches two organizations from two/three different countries (which do not commonly cooperate in international mobility) to coproduce a work by an artist, under the wide umbrella of a specific topic. Throughout the 4 years of the project’s implementation, Stronger Peripheries will coproduce a total of 12 performances from artists or companies resident in 10 different countries.
We are seeking to find contemporary artists/companies working within the fields of the performing arts: dance, theatre, street art, circus art, or any interdisciplinary forms cutting across them.
Artists/companies should present an established body of work, albeit not yet internationally accomplished, meaning that the opportunity to have their work coproduced within Stronger Peripheries would decidedly leverage their international careers. A good match with the project entails an interest in participatory creative practices or methodologies, willingness to engage in/be influenced by specific local contexts and addressing the Tandem’s topic. Tandems’ thought-provoking topics reflect social and political challenges prevalent in the peripheral South, and should be understood as triggers of reflection, remaining open to interpretation by proponent artists/companies.
