The production

Who are the new migrants? And what desires do they have when they migrate to the country that colonized them? The new project by Tiago Cadete – CONCERTO – was created with the complicity of 20 Latin American migrants living in Alcobaça, Pombal and Granollers (Catalonia), whose testimonies make up the text of the performance. An empty audience is the stage for a concert of multiple voices, forming a score that reveals contemporary migratory processes in juxtaposition with colonial history. The result is a concert without a body, a ghostly concert of voices.

The show inverts the traditional relationship in a theater hall, placing the audience on stage. Seated, the spectators listen to the migration stories through the voices of the migrants themselves, projected by twenty black columns that populate the audience. CONCERT is the sound composition with the voices of those who, invisible, we usually do not hear.
