Safe Chemistry

The production

The Safe Chemistry project is conceived as a diptych in which Petra Hrašćanec and Ksenija Zec together with numerous authors/collaborators in their performance respond to the predefined theme Work and Happiness. The project was developed through two seemingly separate projects: 21°C by Petra Hrašćanec and Dinner at 21 by Ksenija Zec that balance between performance and active installation. As part of the pursuit of happiness, Safe Chemistry seeks to explore patterns of friction and reactivity between intentional actions as opposed to evaded performance control by creating the context of choices for performers and audiences. The idea of collaborative intervention connects the conventional performance space with a more intimate gathering space around the table with distinctive details such as objects, food, clothing, music or the identity of the performer.
