Artist statement
We are a contemporary theatre company whose research is focused on building a body dramaturgy in open dialogue with other performing arts.
What interests us is to use the most concrete and tangible aspects, bodies, objects, materials to tell the unspeakable, the invisible, the ineffable…
Our work questions the impact of emotion on movement and the possibility of a theatre rooted in the flesh and muscle.
Our challenge is to invent languages that correspond to topics covered, creating echoes and correspondences, to weave the threads of a revealing poetic imagination . Revealing as in the photographic sense of the term: that reveals the hidden meaning, the possible attempt, In Power … We also wonder about the relationship every time renewed in the space of the representation and in the report to the public to find other way to make appear our vision of the world.
For us theatre is a limitless field of research, a curiosity of every moment, a political and social issue. It is a powerful object to be handled with delicacy…
And conscience.
Rooted in the performing arts, we are also interested in fine and digital arts in a search for dialogue between the body and matter, the real and the virtual.
The company’s creations have been presented in France and abroad: London Mime Festival, French May festival Hong Kong, Festival Mimos de Périgueux, Festival Croisement Chine, Woman stage festival Israel, Teatro del Lago Chile, Prague Non Verbale… and also Singapore, Algeria, Porto Rico, Iran, Kosovo, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, England, Montenegro, Poland, Korea, Japan…
The show “Dis-moi la vérité” received the Interpretation Award at the Be Festival 2012.
The show “Les Aimants” received the Interpretation Award at the Roma Fringe Festival 2015.
Very attached to the transmission of our art, we regularly teach in theatre schools and universities around the world: China Art Academy in Hanghzou, Normal University in Shanghai, the Union national theatre school in Limoges, ITI, intercultural theatre institute in Singapore, Accademia Teatrale Sofia Amendolea in Rome, eurocampus in Shanghai, French high schools in Singapore and Madrid, University of Teheran, Centrum Pantomimy Warsow… And we like to share our research by imagining socio-cultural and inclusive projects for a wide range of audiences.
In addition, we are active in promoting the recognition of Mime and Gesture Arts, notably through initiatives such as Mim’provisation, Mimesis, a festival of short forms of Mime and Gesture Arts in Paris, and the Biennale des Arts du Mime et du Geste throughout France.
In 2019, in collaboration with Genti Arrubia Teatro we have created a new multidisciplinary festival in Sardinia (Italy), “Be in the move” and the ecological theater research project ” Stone’s Life” in 2021.
