Artist statement
Artistic director of Désidératé company based in Paris, I am a transdisciplinary artist preparing a Ph.d in dance, creativity and robotics at the INREV laboratory of the EDESTA in Paris under the direction of Chen Chu-Yin. Recently I worked as an assistant for Heiner Goebbels and his anthology of “Sound & Spaces” in Bogotá, Colombia at UNAL.
Between 2016 and 2018, I collaborated with Michel Cerda as a performer and assistant director of “La Source des Saints” project (Théâtre de la Commune, T2G, Theatre Dijon Bourgogne, Theatre La Joliette, Studio Théâtre de Vitry…).
Until October 2021 I coordinated the Romanian Committee of the Eurodram network. My physical education is a mix of trainings I experienced: from buto with Atsoushi Takenouchi, GaGa dances, Odin Teatret’s laboratory, Viewpoints, Open floor and so on. I am currently an artist associated with DOC organization in Paris (https://doc.work/).
My work focuses on dramaturgy of the body, new media and notions like reality, perception and transformations. My main motivation when creating is to set up processes where beauty and emotion unveil themselves. I experience with a lot of mediums and techniques, being a very curious person. My works have multiple narrations and I find this freedom of interpretation an essential condition for any artistic act. I strongly believe a viewer should be allowed to compose its meaning and narration when in front of an artwork (instead of being imposed a view).
Since May 2020 I am a member of the Bookmark Collective international group of artists, which was created during the Pandemic.
This project involves 30 international artists from India, South Africa, USA, UK, Lituania, Poland, Georgia, Israel, Colombia, The Netherlands… from different fields (cinema, visual arts, performance and fashion) collaborating and exchanging practices. We edit a magazine every trimester, building up common identities and narrations.
For our first common exhibition at Emerging Art Space (https://emergentartspace.org), I’ve collaborated with Indian filmmaker Subhash Maskara to create a short movie entitled “Memoriance” inspired by “L’écume des jours” de Boris Vian.
